Lenny to publish a series of children's books

Lenny is delighted to announce that he will be writing a series of seven children’s books, to be published by Macmillan Children's Books. 

There will be four fiction titles and three picture books. Lenny’s debut fiction title will be published in Autumn 2021 and his first picture book, You Can Do Anything, Tyrone - the story of a little boy with big dreams - will be published in Spring 2022. 

Lenny says: “This is an incredibly exciting moment of my life; I was a voracious reader throughout my childhood even though there were not that many books in our house. I joined Dudley Library at the behest of my Auntie Pearl and from that moment on I was a regular customer, immersing myself in the parallel universes of Just William, Enid Blyton and C.S. Lewis. When I thought about writing for children, all my favourite authors sprang to mind – big respect to all of them. To contribute to such a hallowed canon is the biggest thrill ever. I can’t wait to share my stories with you.” 

To launch the campaign, Lenny is asking members of the public, of any age, to send in their drawings of Tyrone, the star of his picture books. A selection of these entries will appear in the first picture book. To help visualise Tyrone, Lenny has written a special surprise story - Tyrone Claps for Mum - watch him reading it below.
